Water composition

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THERMAL AND MEDICINAL WATER?

Thermal water:

Thermal water is formation water with a temperature over 30 °C. The water temperature is determined by the geothermal gradient of the area in question. In Europe, the average value is 33 m/ °C; while in Hungary, it is 20 m/ °C.

Medicinal water:

In contrast to thermal water, medicinal water has no connection to its temperature, classification of it is a much more complex process. Those subsurface waters are called medicinal which have been proven to have some sort of medicinal properties.

THE COMPOSITION OF VISEGRÁD THERMAL WATER, WHICH HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY RECOGNISED AS MEDICINAL WATER:

The 1302 metre deep well was drilled in 1973 and provides water at 39.5 °C. The water is medium hard and has a low alkaline content, which means it has a very high free carbon dioxide content. The (calcareous and earthy) water from thermal wells of mineral water quality contains calcium, magnesium, and bicarbonates, as well as micronutrients that are very important for the human body (fluorine, iron, meta-boron, and metasilicic acid).

The thermal water is known to have astringent and anti-inflammatory properties, and contains high levels of calcium, magnesium, and bicarbonate, as well as trace elements that are important for the body and relatively low salt concentration alkaloids.

Recommendation: Recommended for the treatment of muscle and nerve pain, musculoskeletal disorders, bilious, kidney, and vascular spasms, and allergic complaints, as well as for its anti-inflammatory effects.

Contraindication: There are no medical contraindications to the composition of the water. However, due to its temperature, people suffering from cardiovascular diseases should be careful in observing the recommended rest periods.
